Why working to support women is so important

My morning reflection today was on why I chose to work only with organizations helping other women.

Being oppressed for the simple fact of being born a woman is something terribly unjust but so incredibly rampant. Reading about this gendercide awhile ago from the book "Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity" really made me that much more aware of the struggles faced by our sisters elsewhere in the world. They deserve better, they deserve happiness and they deserve a chance, so that is why working with such organizations matter so much to me. The change we can make in their lives are tremendous and to be able to help in my own little way through WNDRLST is why I do what I do.

You can support as well by buying the Fairtrade Origami Wool scarf made by victims of abuse, violence and/or poverty from the Kathmandu region of Nepal.
